Galaxy without dark matter discovered

Image
Generally, Galaxy without dark matter baffles astronomers. Recently, Astronomers have discovered a galaxy with almost no dark matter.  Dark matter  is a confusing area of astrophysics but it is generally agreed upon that dark matter is a requirement of the existence of galaxies.  This theory is being put to the test by this latest discovery of a galaxy, called NGC1052-DF2 that appears to have almost no evidence of dark matter.  Finding a galaxy without dark matter is unexpected because this invisible, mysterious substance is the most dominant aspect of any galaxy,"  said  Pieter van Dokkum from Yale University, lead author of the paper on the discovery.  The galaxy is about  65 million light-years away  in the constellation of Cetus and is about the same size as the Milky Way. NGC1052-DF2 isn’t just missing  dark matter  it also only has about one star for every 200 found in the Milky Way.  This is highly uncom...

Robots now coexist with children

Image
Study shows that children tends to coexist with robots that possesses human likeness against human appearance but remain distinguished from humans. Robots are physically and socially attractive when they possesses social attribute.  Robots with moderate anthromorpohic le vel and social cues can enhance child preference and acceptance of robots. The truth is that AI and robotics is a double-edged sword: the more that we create intelligent beings who are imbued with human characteristics, capabilities and behavior, the better we perceive them as humans though the threatens the labour force. At the annual ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human Robot Interaction (HRI), a team from South Korea unveiled Shelly – a robot that teaches children empathy. The team presented their work at this year’s ACM/IEEE International  Conference on Human Robot Interaction (HRI) , which was held earlier this month in Chicago The shell is equipped with LEDs to entice the childr...

ROBOTIC FISH makes discovery safer underwater

Image
The 21st century scientists are working extremely hard to make life easier for humans.  The invention of domestic and industrial robots and other devices makes the work done efficient,  though it threatens welfare of humans. Scientists have developed robotic fish to help researchers do underwater research. The robo-fish can swim alongside real fish to give new perception into life below. The robotic fish named SoFi was developed by MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), can be controlled with sound. SoFi swims by flapping its hydraulic-pump powered tail back and forth.  The clever robot can also control its own buoyancy through adjusting an internal foam material. During test dives in the Rainbow Reef in Fiji, SoFi was able to swim down 15 meters for more than 0 minutes at a time. It could navigate and respond to current and avoid collision with coral. During the swim, SoFi collected data by taking photos and videos u...

WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE GREAT PHYSICIST, [STEPHEN HAWKING]

Image
In admiration of a great scientist, astronomer, theoretical physicist, mathematician and an extraordinary man who worked and whose legacy will live for many years, STEPHEN HAWKINGS. Keeping track of thIS renowned theoretical physicist who passed on, below are some facts about him Stephen Hawkings was born on Jan 8th 1942 in Oxford England. Hawkings father was medical researcher and adviced his son to study medicine which he boldly rejected. Hawkings was diagnosed with motor neurone disease at age 21 which gradually paralysed him and confined him to a wheel chair. He got married to two women during is lifetime, Jane Hawkings and Elaine Mason. He got married to Jane Hawkings in the year 1965 and Elaine Mason in the year 1995 after divorcing Jane hawkings. Steve was  robbed of his voice by a tracheotomy in 1985 MIT engineers Dennis Wath synthensized his voice, but Hawkings subsequently requested to keep that voice throughout of the system upgrade...
